This rub is great for the winter months and seasonal colds and allergies. The aromatic properties in these herbs will help to open the bronchial tubes, soothe inflamed lungs and chest, and clear nasal blockages. Lavender and peppermint have been traditionally used for centuries to soothe coughs, relieve chest tightness and congestion, and open airways and sinus pressure. This chest rub makes a great petroleum-free alternative to Vicks chest rub!

This chest rub is much milder in scent than many on the market due to being made with essential oils & not fragrance, but very effective because of the large amounts of fresh herbs infused into the olive oil. This makes it a great option for those with scent sensitivities and for babies and children.

Lavender has amazing anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties and is effective at naturally loosening up phlegm and relieving congestion, all of which help to speed the process of recovery and remove unwanted material from the body. Thus, it is used to help with respiratory disorders such as asthma, whooping cough, laryngitis, tonsillitis, throat infections, flu, cold, cough, chest congestion, and sinus congestion.

Spearmint has an abundance of anti-inflammatory properties and soothing effects that make it extremely beneficial for respiratory health. It provides relief from a sore throat, clears nasal and chest congestion and also soothes a dry, irritated throat.

Peppermint works as a decongestant, shrinking swollen membranes in the nose and making it easier to breathe, and also helps loosen mucus that has collected in the lungs. It has an antihistamine effect, coupled with the strong, cooling action of menthol that makes it a useful decongestant.

To use:
Rub a small pea-sized amount of salve on the chest area, behind the ears, temples or bottoms of the feet. Relax, and breathe slowly and deeply.

This salve can also be used as a muscle rub.

Ingredients:
Organic cold-pressed avocado oil infused with spearmint, peppermint and vanilla bean, grass-fed tallow, beeswax, organic essential oils of eucalyptus, lavender, ginger, rosemary, and peppermint.

If any irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately. Dilute with a small amount of plain olive oil on the skin where the salve was applied.
